November 2006 Recently I spoke with someone whose young son has just been diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve. I heard again the words I hear much too often, "I feel so all alone." I have been in that lonely place more than once, where I understood so little myself and feared so much for my loved one. It is one very important reason for the existence of the Bicuspid Aortic Foundation: no one should cope with BAVD or TAAD alone. There is no need for that when there can be information, compassion, expertise, and care for ourselves and our families. The scenes above are from the Foundation's September 2006 Awareness activities in southern California. We are in the process of planning additional offerings and events. If you have suggestions regarding events or services that would be helpful to you, we welcome your thoughts. Please check back for updates as the Foundation announces upcoming plans. And thank you to all our volunteers and supporters who help us fulfill our mission. In sharing with others, you are creating a climate
of hope.
